Official Selection of the 19th BuSho

For this year’s 19th BuSho festival, a newly refreshed pre-jury of unprecedented numbers began selecting unprecedented short films earlier this year. We’ve learned what it takes to select the 15 hours of shorts from the nearly 1000 entries, but you can’t get used to the struggle that is the final touches. Who to let go of with a sore heart, who to hold on with tooth and nail, but in the end you always have to decide, because that’s the genre.

After much deliberation, 64 works were shortlisted, including 45 fiction, 12 animation and 7 experimental works. Hungarian filmmakers, paddling on their home waters, will be the main contenders, followed by the usual Spanish, French and German entries, and this time Canadian and Italian filmmakers will be represented with several short films too. This time the specialties will include films from Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Georgia, New Zealand, Singapore and South Africa.

We invite every filmmaker, whose work was selected in the 19th BuSho official programme  to send us the screening copy of the film along with some essential details. For this you can find the online submission form HERE.

We would like to remind everyone for an important rule of the festival to keep in mind:
IF THE FULL FILM IS ONLINE ON ANY VIDEO-SHARING SITE: OUT OF THE PROGRAM OF BUSHO!

We ask all creators to respect the deadline and to check their data after filling in the form, especially the length of the film, the director’s email address and the image, because we will work from these data in the catalogue.
We also kindly ask Hungarian filmmakers to send us the synopsis of their film in both languages, English and Hungarian, thank you!
Should you have any technical or other questions, please send them to busho@busho.hu or info@bushofest.hu!

If you would like to attend the festival in person, you can get accreditation on the website (HERE) or contact tami@busho.hu or info@bushofest.hu for more information.
